Church Mission Program Diagnostic

Church Mission Program Diagnostic
Pastors who love missions are always looking for ways to improve their mission program. Lewis felt the same way when he was pastoring. He and other churches he knew had some of the following issues facing them:

•    Starting a mission program
•    Searching for ways to improve their mission program
•    Feeling their mission emphasis was stuck and needed some new ideas
•    Not getting the results they had hoped for from their mission program
•    Wanting to inject new ideas into their mission program.

That led him to do a lot of research about every part of a church mission program. During that process he read many books, blogs, magazines and articles on missions. He kept them all, categorized them and put them in a notebook. Now he wants to share what he has learned with other senior pastors, mission pastors and mission teams. The subject categories of the notebook are:

•    The Biblical Mission Mandate
•    Writing a Mission Program Manual
•    The Value of Mission Teams
•    The Basics of a Mission Conference
•    Missionary Care
•    Missionary Prayer
•    Mission Giving
•    Short-Term Mission Trips
•    Becoming an Mission Intern Church
•    Becoming a Sending Church
•    How to Work with People in Your Church Who Surrender to Missions
•    Involving Leadership in Missions
•    Involving Staff in Missions
•    Involving Membership in Missions

The notebook is not something you purchase and read on your own. It is designed to be a teaching tool between Lewis and the pastor, missions pastor and/or mission team. The process starts with the pastor filling out a Church Mission Program Diagnostic. This helps Lewis and the senior pastor design a plan specifically targeted for your church that will make a significant improvement in your mission outreach.
